Larry Biernacki , retired from President/CEO of Arkansas Federal Credit Union (AFCU) in August of 2014 after successfully leading the organization since June 2005. AFCU is the largest credit union in Arkansas with over $1 Billion in assets and serving 90,000 members through fourteen full-service branches. Since arriving at AFCU, the organization grew its assets over $600 million in just under 9 years and membership has increased by over 20,000. All done without any mergers. Larry has spent over 30 years involved in the credit union/banking industry. He has held mid and senior management level positions in many different aspects of financial institution management, but heavily weighted in the lending area. He has successfully built and grown many different profitable direct and indirect portfolios including, automobile, marine, RV, home improvement, and manufactured housing. He has supervised as many as 200 employees. In addition, he has introduced, implemented, and trained staff on many different lending products and systems and has been responsible for innovative new products and enhancements being delivered to the marketplace.
Larry attended the National Installment Credit School in Norman, OK and the Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle, Washington. He is a graduate of Northern Arizona University.
