Buddy Gill serves as Chief Advocacy
Officer for the Texas Credit Union League.He is responsible for strategy and management of all the Texas League’s
legislative, regulatory, and political initiatives.
Buddy has worked on more credit
union political issues than probably any other political consultant in America
today.He is respected and known for his
exceptional strategic and communications skills, helping the credit union
movement win critical political, legislative, and regulatory battles.
Among credit union leaders, Buddy
is best known as a key architect, strategist and day-to-day tactician behind
the highly acclaimed Credit Union Campaign for Consumer Choice (HR 1151) – the
1998 grassroots-driven victory in Congress.
For several years he was a national
political consultant to the Credit Union National Association and worked with
numerous state Leagues across the country.
Before becoming part of the credit
union movement, Buddy worked in DC-based Public Affairs and polling firms.He also operated Gill Strategies &
Research up until joining the Texas Credit Union League in 2003.
Buddy is
a veteran of over 120 political campaigns spanning 40 states. TheNew
York Times and TheWashington Times have featured Buddy in
stories on cutting edge techniques in issue campaigns and grassroots-based
advocacy. In 1998, Campaigns and
Elections magazine named him “Rising Star In American Politics.”
Buddy
has received the Certified Association Executive or CAE designation from the
American Society of Association Executives.He grew up in Louisiana and graduated from Tulane University, and now
resides in Austin, Texas.
