Dean is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin and holds a B.B.A. in General Business and Marketing. With over 30 years of credit union industry experience including executive level positions with DATCU and Texans CU, he has been involved in virtually all phases of credit union operations.

Dean is a former director and past president of the Dallas Chapter of Credit Unions. He was the SCMS Award of Excellence recipient in 1990 and was elected Alumnus of the Year by the SCMS Alumni Association in 2002. In addition to his continued work with SCMS, Dean has also conducted training for TCUL credit union trade association educational events and is currently working with Credit Union Resource's OnBalance consulting group.
