Student Campus Housing & Registration

Students are housed in apartment-style dorms on the Texas Christian University campus in Fort Worth, Texas

Students register and move in on Monday, July 6, 2020. Second-year students will be available to help you settle in.

Summer casual: Keep in mind that you represent yourself and your credit union:

  • Dress comfortably—it will be hot. Shorts are acceptable for classroom attire.
  • Wear layers as the classroom temperatures may vary.
  • Bring nicer attire for the commencement.

You will be placed on a floor with other SCMS students.

  • Dorm accommodations are a mix of single and double rooms. There are two-, three-, and four-room combinations, each with one or two bathrooms, a minifridge, and a microwave.
  • Most rooms have full-size beds, as well as a few twin beds. Each room has a dresser and a closet.
  • A set of bed linens and towels will be in your room when you check in.
  • Additional information about where to register and suite mate assignments will be emailed to you before school.

The dorm’s front desk is staffed during the day. They can help you in the residence hall and assist with emergencies.

Prearrival updates will be sent with information about accessing the internet and the SCMS mobile app.

University Policies

  • Pets are not permitted.
  • Alcohol is permitted for adults in private rooms but not in public areas of the residence hall. To bring alcoholic beverages to your room, they must be in a sealed container and inside a paper or plastic bag. If you consume alcohol in public areas, you may be permanently removed from campus and SCMS.
  • Controlled substances, firearms, fireworks, and other explosives and weapons are not permitted in university facilities or on campus.
  • TCU is a tabacco-free, smoke-free, and vape-free campus. Click on the link for details.

What to Bring to Make Your Stay More Comfortable

  • Bedding for a full-size mattress, a blanket, a pillow, and a bedspread—if you prefer your own over what the university provides
  • Floor and shower mats, flip-flops, slippers, and shower shoes
  • Towels, a bathrobe, and toiletries
  • An oscillating fan
  • An umbrella for walking to and from class

You can cut down on the number of items on your list by coordinating with your suite mates.

When all else fails, a Walmart, a Target, and a grocery store are close to campus.
