Mark P. J. Sievewright

Mark began his financial services career twenty-six years ago. During the past ten years Mark has worked extensively in North America with Credit Unions, Corporate Credit Unions, CUNA, CUNA Mutual Group, Credit Union State Leagues, and the CUNA Technology Council.
Also, Mark has helped individual Credit Unions formulate and execute successful business and technology strategies. He has facilitated Credit Union board meetings and has helped a number of Credit Union leaders (across a variety of asset categories) shape the future of their Credit Unions.
Mark’s views and insights on the industry have been featured in Credit Union Magazine, Credit Union Times (and other Credit Union publications) and he has bylined articles for the “News Now” service offered by CUNA. Also, he has served as a keynote speaker at numerous Credit Union events around the country and is a current faculty member of CUNA’s Strategic Planning Institute. While President & CEO of TowerGroup, Mark led the development of a unique information resource for Credit Unions, - called the “Credit Union Technology Advisory Center” (CUTAC) - in partnership with CUNA.
Mark’s financial services career began in 1979 when he joined one of the world’s largest banks - HSBC in the United Kingdom. During his nearly 13 years at the bank, Mark held a variety of senior business management and operational roles within the bank’s Consumer Banking and Card & Payment Services divisions. He also worked as a Senior Manager within the bank’s “Office of the CEO” for 18 months.
In 1991, he joined MasterCard International in Brussels, Belgium and was responsible for Europe-wide marketing and commercial services covering sales management, corporate communications, fraud management and business/ IT management.
In 1995, Mark joined PSI (now Taylor-Nelson-Sofres Financial Services), a leading marketing information company specializing in financial services. He served as Executive Vice President, International Operations (based in London) and in January 1998, he became President and CEO of the company and relocated to Tampa, Florida.
In March, 2000, Mark became President and CEO of TowerGroup, the leading provider of information technology-related research and advisory services focused exclusively within the financial services sector. Mark led TowerGroup’s evolution into the financial services industry’s leading research and advisory company and built a team of expert analysts and consultants widely recognized as the best in the industry.
He joined Fiserv in December, 2004, as Corporate Senior Vice President for Market Development. Fiserv is the leading provider of information management and technology solutions to Credit Unions. Formed in 1984, Fiserv has grown into a worldwide organization with clients in more than 60 countries supported by over 21,000 employees
Mark has been quoted extensively in the financial press and is a renowned keynote speaker and chairperson at financial services events and conferences around the world. Mark has presented at more than 200 events in more than 30 countries receiving highly positive feedback from clients and conference organizers alike. He was the conference chair at the 2004 Financial Services Technology Conference (organized by Source Media Conferences) and will chair the 2006 Branch Banking Conference for the fourth consecutive year in May.
Mark was born and educated in Wales, part of the United Kingdom. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He also has Diplomas in Marketing, Business Administration and Human Resources Management. He is married with three children and lives in Massachusetts.
