Student Campus Housing & Registration

Students are housed in apartment style dorms on the Texas Christian University (TCU) campus in Fort Worth, TX.

Students register Sunday, July 7, 2019. Second year students are prepared to help make your move-in a little easier.

Summer Casual - Always keep in mind that you represent yourself and your credit union:

  • Dress comfortably - it will be hot! Shorts are acceptable for classroom attire.
  • Recommend layers! Classroom temperatures may vary.
  • Nicer attire for graduation.

You are placed on a floor with other SCMS students.

  • Dorm accommodations are a mix of single and double sleeping rooms. There are two, three, and four sleeping room combinations, each with one or two bathrooms, a micro fridge, and a microwave.
  • The majority of sleeping rooms have full sized beds. There are a few twin beds. Each room has a dresser and closet.
  • One (1) set of bed linens and towels are in your room when you check in.
  • Additional information about registration location and suitemate assignments will be emailed to you prior to school.

The dorm’s front desk is staffed at pre-scheduled hours the day. They can help you in the residence hall and assist with emergencies.

Watch for information about internet and SCMS mobile app access.

University Policies

  • Pets are not permitted.
  • Alcohol is permitted for adults in private rooms but not in public areas of the residence hall. To bring alcoholic beverages to your room, the container must be sealed and in a paper or plastic bag. Alcohol in public areas may result in permanent removal from campus and SCMS.
  • Controlled substances, firearms, fireworks, and other explosives and weapons are not permitted in University facilities or on campus.
  • Non-smoking campus. See link for details.

What to Bring to Make Your Stay More Comfortable

  • Bedding – full size (or twin) sheets, blanket, pillow, and bedspread.
  • Alarm clock
  • Television set, radio, cd player, mp3 player – you get the idea - of course, silence can be golden.
  • Floor and shower mats, flip-flops, slippers, shower shoes (welcome to dorm life)
  • Towels, bathrobe, toiletries
  • Iron and small ironing board
  • Oscillating Fan
  • Umbrella (for walking to/from class)

  • When you are packing, be mindful of airline security levels. Most likely any liquid items (lotions, shampoos, make-up, etc.) need to be in checked luggage. Click here for up to the minute permitted and prohibited items according to the Transportation Security Administration.
  • Cut down on your list by coordinating with your suitemates or friends.
  • When all else fails, a Wal-Mart is never far away and finding a ride is usually pretty easy. There's also a grocery store in short walking distance.
